Lots of touches, movement and chances to simply enjoy football.
Our first step into early-years football: a fun, friendly and child-first development programme for children in Reception and Year 1.
Cubs Crew is the next chapter in the growth of Lilly Street Lions FC and has been created specifically for our youngest players.
The focus is not on results, positions or pressure. It is about helping children fall in love with football, become comfortable with the ball, make friends, build confidence and enjoy being active in a positive environment.
Sessions will introduce the basics of movement, ball mastery, passing, turning, dribbling, shooting and simple decision-making through games and activities that are appropriate for Reception and Year 1 children.
Everything follows the same club philosophy as the rest of Lilly Street Lions FC: Play. Learn. Grow. Enjoy.
Lots of touches, movement and chances to simply enjoy football.
Simple skills and football ideas introduced without pressure or over-coaching.
Building confidence, coordination, independence, teamwork and a willingness to try.
The most important outcome is that children leave smiling and want to come back.
Cubs Crew is being created as the foundation for a future Lilly Street Lions FC Under-7s team.
The intention is for children who progress through Cubs Crew to have a natural route into the club’s Under-7s setup for the 2027/28 season, helping us build age groups sustainably while keeping development and enjoyment at the centre.
For boys and girls beginning their football journey.
A simple monthly membership for the Cubs Crew development programme.
Exact training arrangements will be shared directly with registered families rather than published publicly.
Children are encouraged to experiment, make mistakes and learn at their own pace.
To launch Cubs Crew properly in January 2027, we need positive, reliable and child-first people who would like to help our youngest players begin their football journey.
Experience is desirable — but it is not essential. The right attitude, patience and willingness to learn matter just as much.
The club will support new coaches on their journey and help them build the qualifications and confidence needed to work safely and positively with young children.
Our launch and recruitment posters bring together the key information for families and anyone interested in joining the coaching team.
Whether you have a child who would love to join or you are interested in becoming part of the coaching team, we would love to hear from you.
One club. One family. One Pride.
